Our pledge campaign is currently at 124% of our target. Thank you to everyone who has pledged for this new album.
Even though we are over our target that doesn’t mean the campaign is over. We’ve still got loads of great exclusives up for grabs so make sure you check out the campaign and help us record our new album.
As 2017 comes to a close we look back at a great year for our band.
Back in February Mike Rigler joined the band, he has brought so much positive energy and musicianship to Voodoo Vegas, the future is certainly bright.
In July we played our 1st ever show in Estonia at Amme Rock Festival as well as playing in Sweden for the 1st time in September.
We toured The Netherlands and the U.K. with Y&T, and played some awesome shows and festivals in Germany, France and Belgium.
In August one of our gig highlights was headlining Monmouth Festival. We also played Winters End festival for Planet Rock and Hard Rock Hell AOR Festival.
Sadly our huge show in China was cancelled just 2 weeks before the date. We hope we can rock China in 2018.
In December we began pre production on our 3rd album with Will Maya, we had one of the most creative and exciting weekends of song writing this band has ever had. We are all super pumped to begin work on album number 3.
We hope every one of you has a safe remainder of 2017.
Thank you for your continued support.
2018 will bring us a new album and hopefully loads of awesome shows, festivals and experiences.
Great live review from our set at The Glasgow Garage supporting Y&T earlier this month.
Review from Metaltalk.net
Bournemouth's rapidly rising quintet Voodoo Vegas have been making a name for themselves over the past few years. Over the years they've shared stages with some of the biggest names in rock n' roll including ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, Status Quo and Y&T all over Europe.
Their last full-length studio effort was their excellent debut album, 'The Rise of Jimmy Silver', back in 2013 which was followed up by the 'Hypnotise' EP a year later and their most recent release, 2016's 'Freak Show Candy Floss' was a favourite release of mine – and still is.
Although they may have been quiet in the recording stakes, the Voodoo Vegas' touring schedule, on the other hand, has been relentless around the UK and Europe but not, as front man Lawrence Case points out have they been so prolific north of the border.
"We only found out about this show a week ago" he explained before adding that it's been a long time since they last ventured up to Glasgow before joking "Scotland – it's such a long way!"
Indeed, an eight hour plus drive for a thirty-minute set shows how much these kinds of opportunities mean to Voodoo Vegas and they didn't shirk their responsibilities when it came to entertainment.
With an early curfew on the venue due to their club night, the Dorsetters were unfortunately not playing to a full house but their performance could have had you thinking that they were.
For those en route to the venue when they played, you missed a great set from a truly under-rated British act. Pulling tracks from all their releases, the band put in a storming set in front of the small but very appreciative audience.
Lawrence is a truly fantastic front man who just oozes charisma and talent while guitarist Merylina Hamilton put in a stunning performance.
Highlights included 'The Ferry Song' and 'So Unkind' which had a bit of audience participation added to the mix while it was very much a case of leaving the best till last with 'King Without A Crown'.
If you haven't heard of Voodoo Vegas, go and seek them out because bands with this much talent need your support now more than ever.
VOODOO VEGAS TO PLAY CHINESE MUSIC FESTIVAL & HAVE RELEASED THEIR NEW VIDEO, ‘RESOLUTION’
Come October 3rd, Bournemouth-based UK rock band ‘Voodoo Vegas’ will be playing The Western China Music Festival’ in Dujiangyan China. They’ll be the first (and only) UK band to ever play this festival. What’s more, Voodoo Vegas will be playing to a massive crowd, expected to number around 100,000 people: the biggest audience the band have ever played to!
Voodoo Vegas are: Lawrence Case - Vocals / Harmonica; Meryl Hamilton – Guitar; Ash Moulton – Bass; Mike Rigler – Drums; and Jon Dawson – Guitar. Together they make up a high energy 5-piece rock band, playing all over the UK and regularly touring Europe, taking influences from classic and modern rock sounds. Now, Voodoo Vegas are extending their touring to the Far East!
All of the band are unbelievably excited to be playing in China. “This is a huge deal for all of us,” says frontman Lawrence Case, “We can’t believe we are playing the show; we feel like we’ve won the lottery!”
Playing China isn’t plain sailing. It has taken around 4 months to confirm the show after the festival initially made contact with the band, and making arrangements has taken time and effort. Voodoo Vegas have had to send all of their music to the Chinese Cultural Secretary, as well as every single lyric to every song they’ve ever written, in order to demonstrate to the Chinese authorities that their material has no controversial political overtones.
Getting to China will involve a long journey, but the band can’t wait to get there and play in this fascinating country.
The band’s appearance at the Western China Music Festival show comes in the middle of a run of UK and European dates from September onwards. Voodoo Vegas will also be playing 2 shows in Sweden (their first ever shows in that country) Then, later in October the band will be touring The Netherlands playing four dates with legendary rockers Y&T.
Never ones to rest on their laurels, Voodoo Vegas have also just released their latest video, ‘Resolution’ (the 4th single from the band’s sophomore album 'Freak Show Candy Floss’), a colourful, dynamic performance of the song, filmed by HP Music (Harrison Perks & Craig Jones), that captures the band’s energy.
Energy soon to be exported to China!
